1. A perfect Primer and liquid foundation helps immensely in filling up your wrinkles and makes them less visible. Firstly use the primer to fill the small wrinkles and then do not apply a thick layer of foundation as it breaks and cracks appear on your skin but use moisturizer and a light liquid foundation to add a skin plumping effect in you.

2. Make your eyes look pretty and do not go for the overly done clown eyes. As you know that your eye sight might a little weak so use a good magnifying mirror to do the eye makeup and enhance the shape of your eye. The usage of eye liner is very much important and use mascara to give the illusion of thick eye lashes. Use sophisticated and light eye shade with a little shimmer that gives you a vibrant look.

3. While applying the foundation don’t forget to put that on your lips too as you would love to have lips that do not have a bleeding lip color but using a foundation or moisturizer plumps up your lips, use a lip pencil to make the shape of your lips and then fill in with it, after that use the lipstick brush to apply the lipstick.

4. Reduce dark circles and rejuvenate the tired eyes by getting proper rest and reduces eye puffiness. If you have dark circles then it may be because of too much pigmentation so use creams that are rich in vitamin c plus you can also use cucumber for your eyes as it has a very soothing effect on them.

5. Sunglasses are not only a great fashion but it also makes you look younger and stylish. It is among the ways in which you can keep your eyes safe from sun damage but also saves you from getting more wrinkles on your skin.

6. Hairs trimming are very much important, as with the passage of time your hairs start falling down then get a proper hair cut and maintain your hairs. A hairdo must be in such a way that it adds volume to your hairs and style them in a sophisticated manner. You know you will be having grey hairs soon, so do not fret about the grey hairs.

7. Exfoliation is a very good tip for keeping your skin fresh, scrub your face and body regularly to remove the dull skin. Apply this all very gently and do not scrub too hard as it will put rashes on your skin.

8. Bleach your skin every month or two as the aging spots will appear on your skin and hydroquinone is the ingredient necessary for your skin which lightens your skin.

9. Eat healthy food for a sound body, for a glowing skin you can eat salmon as it is rich in omega 3 fatty acids, eat fruits for proper vitamins and minerals plus the most important part i.e. quit smoking.

LONDON: The smell of a baked potato can actually make us feel happier, scientists say.

Researchers have discovered that the aromas given off during the cooking process can trigger positive memories in the brain, the Daily Mail reported.

Findings revealed the majority of participants were uplifted by comforting childhood memories – including favourite grandparents and meals with the family.

Avinash Kant, who lead the research, said the positive emotions were triggered by what is called the “Maillard Effect”.

Who knew? Drink water to keep diabetes at bay–health

Who knew? Drink water to keep diabetes at bay

drink water

Did you know that March 22nd is World Day for Water? Water has earned its pride of place as the panacea for most ills and the importance of staying hydrated, especially during dry, sweltering Indian summers is something we all know.

But did you know that water can also help keep diabetes at bay? This recent research states that the amount of water intake has a direct effect on how sugar regulation happens in the blood.

In almost a decade-long study conducted on about 3000 people, those who drank more water everyday were found to have lower blood sugar levels than those who didn't. The mechanism of sugar regulation lies with a hormone called vasopressin, which rises when the body is dehydrated and makes the liver produce more blood sugar.

More research is needed to ascertain the effect of water on blood sugar levels, but initial evidence suggests that adequate water intake can actually help stave off diabetes

Best 10 Tips to Keep Your Skin Shining in Winter Season|Skin Care

Best 10 Tips to Keep Your Skin Shining in Winter Season|Skin Care

As you anticipate the coming of the Christmas vacation, including the gifts and all the merriment during Christmas and New Year, there are also concerns and worries arising because of the cold weather that can beat down your skin. Yes, freezing temperatures can dehydrate your skin, making it dry and flaky, which will eventually wrinkle it and make it look old. If what you are looking for is tips that can make your young, delicate skin shine even in winter, then check out the tips that can protect your valued asset.

0

1. Use Chemical-free Cosmetics

1

You may experience the glow that you are really looking for, but it may compromise your skin in the long run. You should be conscious enough to see that your mascara, lipsticks, foundation makeup, and even body sprays do not have certain elements like plastic resins, formaldehyde, and carcinogenic chemical solvents. Since the skin is more delicate in winter, using natural makeup can lessen the damage on the skin, not only on the face, but also all over the body.

2. Wash Your Clothes Consciously

2

This is very important if you need to keep your skin protected and shining from winter. Yes, since you are wearing compressed clothing, which may be too close for the skin, certain chemicals from dyes and perfumes found in detergents or fabric conditioners may be sipped in by the skin when being warm. It is just like using makeup with chemicals.

3. Protect Yourself from UV Rays

3

Even if you do not see the sun shining so hard, or even when the skies are dark all day long, it does not mean that UV rays are not visible. Yes, you may need to wear some lotion with UV protection so that your skin will not get premature wrinkling.

4. Exfoliate Right

4

Exfoliating the skin is always a regimen to keep it clean and away from those harmful outside elements lingering on the pores. It is not advised however, that you do some body scrubbing on dry skin as it may damage pores and make things worse by incurring acne. You may exfoliate by using a natural bristle brush that sweeps of those dead skin cells and other stuck stuff on your pores, resulting to better circulation, and more vibrant skin tone.

5 . Lessen Your Shower Time

5

If you have been used to taking baths longer than 30 minutes, then you should lessen it as it removes natural oils from the skin. You may need to lessen it to about half the time so that it does not wash away those essential elements that keep the skin moisturized and damp. Using warm water is also advised, instead of hot water, so that dehydration is not increased due to the temperature clash after the bath. It is also advised to pat yourself dry with a towel, rather than wiping the water off, so that the liquids stay on the skin.

6. Avoid Certain Foods and Drinks

6

It is not advised for people to eat spicy food in winter because the increased body temperature does not mix with the cold weather outdoors. Your skin will not shine because you will become all red as the increased blood circulation can wind down slow on freezing air. This also goes for alcoholic drinks and caffeine products.

7 Keep Warm

7

Your skin will shine when the temperature on your skin is maintained warm and not exposed to cold weather. Wear clothes that are made of natural fabrics, such as cottons and silks, or even sheep fur if you have those, for warmth while keeping your skin breathe.

8. Take Your Vitamins

8

Just keep taking in your vitamins since it helps a lot in coping up with dryness, particularly Vitamin E that is great for the skin. You should also include Vitamin A and B-complex for some extra boost. If possible, you could use Vitamin-rich lotions to treat those very prone skin sections such as the knees and the elbows.

9. Increase Fluid Intake

9

You may not know it, but cold weather can keep your skin dry as it loses water when it reaches a certain point where body liquids freeze up and just disappears away. The moisture inside the skin ends up being useless, thus results to flakes, wrinkles, and even age spots. So increase your intake of water, even more than eight glasses a day. You may feel like being fatter, but with the freezing temperature, it should be enough to cope with the stressful weather.

10. Keep Your Skin Moisturized

10

After taking a bath, you must put on some moisturizer to keep your skin healthy and full, even when going outdoors and facing the cold weather. Make sure though that you are diligent enough to do some frequent moisturizing, since neglecting it for a couple of times can make your hands, feet, and face dry almost instantly, making it flaky, wrinkled, and dry. Look for some products that offer thick moisturizing, which makes you lessen the application process, but still provides double the wetness

The 10 Best Weight-Loss Tips Ever|Health

The 10 Best Weight-Loss Tips Ever|Health

Dieting sucks and never seems to work long-term anyway. These easy habits will slim you down.

young couple running on the beach

Losing pounds doesn't have to be torture (we're looking at you, cayenne-pepper cleanse). Adopt at least three of these behaviors — they're simple to integrate into your day-to-day routine, and all are enthusiastically backed by nutritionists — and you'll be thinner and healthier in days. (Plus, the weight will stay off.)

1. SNACK, BUT SMARTLY

Grazing between meals used to be on the weight-loss hit list. But nutritionists now know that it's better to satisfy a craving with healthy grub than ignore it and risk a junk-food binge later. The best picks are filling, protein-packed snacks, such as one stick of string cheese, a tablespoon of peanut butter on a piece of fruit, or a medium-size bowl of edamame.

2. TURN OFF THE TV

Dining while viewing can make you take in 40 percent more calories than usual, reports a new study. And texting, driving, or any other distracting activity during a meal can also result in your eating too much. Instead, make each meal something you put on a plate and sit down to, even if you're eating solo.

3. STEP ON THE SCALE DAILY

If your regular weight increases several days in a row, it's a red flag letting you know you need to cut back a little or beef up your workouts slightly.

4. SCULPT THREE TIMES A WEEK

Doing 5 minutes each of push-ups, lunges, and squats (in 30-second intervals) will help build and maintain muscle mass. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism will be, so you'll torch more calories as you go about your day.

5. REACH FOR YOUR CELL

Next time your mind gets stuck on a certain food, call a friend and redirect your brain by asking how her day's going. Research shows that cravings only last about 5 minutes, so by the time you hang up, the urge to devour junk will have subsided.

6. EAT A BIG, BALANCED BREAKFAST

An a.m. meal made up mostly of carbs and protein with some fat keeps blood-sugar levels steady and hunger pangs away so you're not susceptible to pigging out come lunch, studies show. Opt for something satisfying for your stomach and taste buds — like egg whites and turkey bacon with whole-wheat toast.

7. WATCH THE BOOZE

One innocent-looking margarita or cosmopolitan can rack up hundreds of calories that do nothing to quench your appetite. Treat yourself just on the weekends and cut back somewhere else or stick to a glass of wine, light beer, or vodka and soda — three drinks that each have about 100 calories per serving.

8. HAVE FRUIT TWICE A DAY

Fruit has no fat and is mostly water, so it'll fill you up while leaving less room on your plate (and in your stomach) for high-cal fare. Don't freak about fruit's carb count — we're talking the good kind of carbohydrates that contain lots of healthy fiber.

9. STAY ASLEEP LONGER

Getting to bed just 30 minutes earlier and waking up 30 minutes later than you normally do can help you make better food choices, researchers report. Also, when you're well-rested, you're less prone to snacking out of fatigue or stress.

10. VISUALIZE YOURSELF THIN

When you feel your willpower breaking, conjure up a mental picture of yourself when you looked and felt slim. The visual motivation keeps you focused on your goal weight and reminds you that it is attainable, since you've achieved it before.

Diet for diabetics|Tips

Diet for diabetics|Tips

3

Dealing with a therapeutic condition can be difficult. Managing the diet is of utmost important but it mostly comes at a cost of either following a very difficult routine or being given options that are unappetizing making it difficult to manage the condition through diet.2

Diabetes is one such therapeutic condition where managing the diet is critical to ensuring that the insulin levels are in control. Diabetes is relatively easy to control with a help of correct diet and exercise program.

The rise in blood sugar is seen due to eating unhealthy, not exercising and consuming fattening foods. This can be managed or controlled by eating foods that slowly breakdown in the body and slowly release the glucose in the body preventing the blood sugar levels to rise quickly. These particular kind of foods are also known to have a low-glycemic index Every diet program also needs to be customized your body type and physical needs. People that are more active require different calorie intake versus people who are not so active.

4

Some of the foods highly recommended for diabetic patients are vegetables like green peas, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, bitter gourd, garlic etc are some of the healthy options. Eat beans, green vegetables, chickpeas, dals etc which will keep you fuller and maintain blood sugar levels. Include fengureek, Basel leaves and some quantity of lean meat and fish.

Diet alone will not be as effective. Exercise fit for your physical ability and body type is essential to show results. If you find it difficult to get started then condition your self slowly to set a routine. Tell yourself everyday in the evening you will go for a walk, water your plants or just engage in mid intensity household chores. Slowly increase the intensity and explore activities that will keep this routine going. Better still you can even get together with your friends or family to play a light sport or go for a walk /jog in the evenings or early mornings.

5

Lastly maintain a strict routine for your meal timings. Even if you watch what you eat and exercise regularly but don’t care about your meal timings it can completely harm the momentum. Make sure you dont skip your meals and eat them at recommended intervals so that the body is able to function normally.

In case you find it difficult to get started on your own then you can get professional help. This can help you atleast get started on a routine and get you on track before you can independently take charge of your health  and adopt a healthy lifestyle for good.
